Below are the coffee and macadamia demo nurseries. Chipinge officer Godfreyj reporting on the progress made so far. Macadamia nursery from May and this is what has been done now. Coffee from August 2022 The nursery structure update and seedlings as of November 13,/11/22
Coffee farming is a promising venture. Chipinge team leader took off with a group of 14 farmers,5 females 9 males, and 8 youths. They traveled 20km to a place in chipping where a young farmer of 20yrs is doing wonders growing coffee. They visited 2 farmers
The purpose of the visit was to establish if small-scale farmers can be successful coffee farmers if they have the appropriate drive, that u don’t have to be rich first to be a farmer, that u need to be resourceful, that hard work persistence, and perseverance pays off at the end, that coffee has a ready market, that its possible to end poverty thru farming, that vision 2030 is attainable
All the small-scale farmers started humble and are a reflection of Zimbabwe’s good story of food self-sufficiency and economic prosperity
Sometimes cash crops are good as they cash to strengthen the household economy so that the household will better concentrate on growing food to end hunger than the food they end up selling for money and the farmer ends up hungry again by year-end.
The following are taken away in pictures of the training.
